The scope of the narrow Pilates movement: The Pilates couple created more than 500 movements in total, most of which were photographed or documented. They include the movements on the mat and the studio equipment invented by Mr. Pilates, which is the concept of Pilates exercise in a narrow sense.

Generalized concept of Pilates exercise: Pilates is first and foremost a movement. It mainly exercises the small muscle groups in the deep layers of the human body, maintains and improves the appearance of normal postures, achieves body balance, develops the range of motion and mobility of the trunk and limbs, emphasizes the control of core muscle groups, and strengthens the human brain to the limbs and bones. It is a whole-body coordinated movement performed by the nerve induction and innervation of muscle tissue, combined with the correct breathing method.
