Pilates Spine and Pelvic Natural Axial Position

The natural axial positions of the spine and pelvis complement each other. When the pelvis is on its natural axis, the lower back spine will automatically fall into its central axis. To find your natural pelvic axis position, place the bottom of your palm on your pelvis and your fingertips on your pubic bone to form a triangle. When this triangle is horizontal, the pelvis and lower back are on their natural central axis. Try to maintain this natural mid-axis position in every Pilates movement.
