During the reign of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, swings were popular in the palace. The Tang Dynasty Gao Wuji's "Hanwu Emperor's Backyard Swing Fu" said: "The swing is also a thousand-year-old. The Han Wu prayed for the longevity of the thousand-year-old, and the harem was full of swings." It means that "swing" was originally called "Qianqiu". Because Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty used "Qianqiu Longevity" as a birthday speech, taking the meaning of "Qianqiu Longevity", in order to avoid taboos, the word "Qianqiu" was reversed, and it was later renamed "Qianqiu". Swing", and the word "swing" is written as "swing". In addition, in Song Dynasty "Xiangsu Miscellaneous Notes" there are also records of "swing, a play in the harem of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty", which can be corroborated. It can be seen that the word "swing" not only has a long history, but also was originally called "Qianqiu".
During the Northern and Southern Dynasties, the game of swinging has been circulated among the people, and it is mainly concentrated on the day of the beginning of spring (non-Shanrong people "do it every time when it is cold"). In the Southern Dynasties Liang Daizong's "Jing Chu Shi Sui Ji", it is said that every year on the day of the beginning of spring, people perform "hooking" plays, and "playing scorpions and swinging plays". It can be seen that during this period, swinging from the palace to the people, "the day of spring every year" is often referred to as a "swing play", and a customary seasonal activity has initially formed.
