After the Han Dynasty, the swing gradually became a folk custom and spread on festivals such as Qingming and Dragon Boat Festival. After the founding of New China, with the rise of various modern sports, the swing sport has become a special activity for children in most areas of China, except that it is still widely popular in a few areas. In February 1986, the State Sports Commission formulated the "Rules for Swing Competition" (draft). By the 6th National Ethnic Minority Games in 1999, the swing had developed into a larger project including 6 individual events.
